3. Define and Describe

The book kissing the rain by Kevin Brooks is all about justice. I automatically think to when Moo, the main character is faced with the tough decision to tell the truth and let there be justice or to lie because he was put under pressure. The definition of justice is, the quality of being fair and reasonable, and the pressure Moo is put under doesn't give him fairness. Although if he tells the truth he is being fair and reasonable. This book really shows two different sides of justice which makes for an interesting read. "Well, put yourself in his place. How would you feel if you were wrongly accused of murder, and the only person who knew the truth refused to testify on your behalf? how would you feel about that?" (Brooks 170). This statement was made by the lawyer of one of the characters, he talks about being wrongly accused, injustice, and how Moo should testify so the man can have justice.

2. Identify & Sort

The five main elements of my novel are detailed characters, a well thought out plot, suspense, a major crisis and the point of view. Although all of these elements have a great importance the most important to least would be, for me, the plot, characters, crisis, suspense and lastly the point of view. I feel that the plot is the most important because its what gives the book a story line. With a boring or bland plot the story would be pointless and few people would read it. In my novel "419", the plot is very intense and a little bit crazy. Sometimes its hard for me to understand the plot and what is happening, but that may just be the way is written. I chose this book, and kept reading it because the plot is so intriguing. Its complex but keeps you always wanting to read more, the dynamic plot keeps the book interesting. In the book the author writes "It was a plea that would become more insistent as the days wore on, and with it came the counter-whisper, urging her not to stop, to keep moving" (Ferguson, 419 9). I chose this quote from the book because it shows that the book's plot is intense. This sentence was the end of a chapter, and of course after reading it I had to keep going and see what would happen next.
